Data Recovery for EXT2/EXT3

As everyone knows, if you deleted files in EXT2/EXT3 file system s partition, the node which stored the files will also be deleted. In other words, if the files which are stored in EXT2/EXT3 file system s partition are deleted, they are hardly to be recovered.
However, the EXT2 file system is different with EXT3 file system even if the EXT3 file system is improved with EXT2 file system. The EXT3 file system added a function which can record what the operating system has been doing. Hence, the files which are stored in the EXT3 file system are easier than EXT2 file system to recover. So do the EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard.
Recently, we received a serious case. The persons whose partition which stored the database is crashed are mostly crazy. This database stored a lot important files in their professional field. However, they used the Fedora operating system and EXT3 file system with each partition. The operating system was working fine. But the partition which stored their database was crashed totally.
At the beginning, we feel the problem might be caused by the MBR or partition table has been corrupted. So we could suggest the customer use the Partition Table Doctor to fix the partition. If the problem was just like this, it was just easy for Partition Table Doctor to solve. But they said, they could use/access the partition which was crashed normally but the data was lost. At this moment, we realized that the problem was hard to solve. That is because the nodes which stored the files were also be deleted. This is the most problem.
We could only suggest the user use EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard 4.0.1 to search the files. Data Recovery Wizard will search the backup node information and log files in the EXT3 file system. And if the user use the RAW way to search the files, it will be easier for searching the backup node information. By the way, the RAW way is a very especially way for searching files. It will search files by the files content themselves but not by the files names and properties. However, if used the RAW way, the recovered files will lost their file names and the recovered files will be named automatically by Data Recovery Wizard.
However, a new problem was occurred. As you know, the database such as SQL Server, DB2 or Oracle etc stored the data as a file. So, if the backup ways are different, whether or not it could be easy to recover are different. The incremental backup will be more easily than differential backup. Fortunately, they use the incremental backup to backup their database.
Hence, we suggest the customer change the limitation size of RAW way to recover. The capacity of limitation size of Data Recovery Wizard is 2GB so that they should change the single file size to 2GB. Although the Data Recovery Wizard separated the database file to some little files via using RAW way to search the files, the customer still found the nearest backup file. That is very good luck.
Although our product EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard solves the problem, we still DO NOT recommend each person whose problem like this use software to solve the problem for the data safety. The software won t damage the files, but if you use software to search the files, it will cost you a lot of time and energy to do the file recovery and combine.
